Men and women value many of the same things when they’re purchasing a new home. But some priorities are quite different.

It appears to be the same for both to look for a detached three or four bedroom home, with two washroom and a garage.

A large master bedroom with an en-suite is a big selling feature. Everybody needs some quiet space.

Women will love a walk-in-closet and an inviting bathroom with a standalone tub. Large closets with lots of storage space are also on the list. After walking in a home the first thing a woman inspects is the kitchen and the master bedroom, then the amount of storage space.

Everyone loves a great kitchen! An updated open designed kitchen with quality appliances is on the list. We socialize when we cook. A kitchen island is a great addition to the kitchen.

Another feature that women love is the dedicated laundry space.

Men expect a garage space and a finished basement, privacy of the backyard and hardwood floor throughout a home.

The effects of the pandemic have impacted our home buying decisions. Today people are looking for more space to accommodate workstations for both adults and kids.

Buying a home is a big decision and for the best possible buying experience it is important to choose a home that both partners are excited about.
